Why not all songs?
We're working hard to grow our song library! Each song takes time to carefully prepare and optimise for AppForWorship, ensuring it works seamlessly with all the app's features, including flexible arrangements, instrument controls and synchronised lyrics.
We're continually adding new songs, so you'll see the library grow over the coming weeks and months.
We know a wider choice matters when you are planning worship. If there is a song your church would particularly like to use, please use our song suggestion form. We cannot promise that every request will become available, but your suggestions help us understand what would be most useful.
I used iSingWorship. Will AppForWorship feel familiar?
Yes. If you’ve used iSingWorship, much of AppForWorship should feel familiar, so you won’t be starting from scratch. There are some differences and new features to explore, but we hope you’ll soon feel comfortable preparing and leading worship.
We understand that iSingWorship’s closure is disappointing, especially if your church has relied on it for years. We want to make the move as straightforward as we can.
You can explore AppForWorship and its free songs before choosing a subscription. Everyone can also activate three months of AppForWorship Essentials free, with no payment details required and no automatic renewal. AppForWorship Essentials includes extra preparation tools and cloud syncing; access to the full song catalogue requires AppForWorship Plus.
We’re continually adding music from a wide range of sources, so there’s always more to discover in the AppForWorship Plus catalogue.
If you need help getting started with AppForWorship, please contact us. We’ll be happy to help you find your way around.
Do I need a separate slide for each page of text?
No. One text slide can contain several pages. When editing your text, leave a blank line wherever you want a new page—press Enter twice. A single line break keeps the text on the same page.
This lets you keep a whole reading, prayer or notice together in one slide and move through its pages as you present.
How do I add a slide from PowerPoint to AppForWorship?
Within PowerPoint, export your slides as JPEG pictures and choose to save every slide. Save the pictures onto the device you use for AppForWorship, then import them as pictures and arrange them in service order.
I sometimes get audio glitches or stuttering when playing music. What should I do?
First, make sure you are using the latest version of AppForWorship. You can find it on our download page.
If the problem persists, email support with your device, operating system, app version and the name of the song. Please tell us whether you are using a wired or wireless audio connection.
Why are my services or media not syncing between devices?
Cloud syncing is included with AppForWorship Essentials and AppForWorship Plus. Free works independently on each device, without cloud or live syncing.
If you have an AppForWorship Essentials or Plus subscription, check that your devices are online and signed in to the same account. Make sure you are using the latest app version. If the problem persists, email support and tell us which devices and items are affected.
Why can’t I change a song’s sections or individual instrument volumes?
These controls depend on the type of song. AppForWorship Plus includes section changes and accompaniment controls on supported songs. A normal MP3 file or lyric video does not contain separate song sections and instrument tracks for those controls.
See our feature comparison for what Free, Essentials and Plus include.
Why are there 'Update' buttons beside the songs??
We update songs to fix an issue or improve it in some way. Example improvements include making font sizes better or change the length of the fade out at end.
We recommend updating songs when it is convenient to do so. Please note: If you have changed the lyrics yourself then an update may affect these changed lyrics. Please play the song through to double check that it is still OK for you.
I sometimes find the female voices too high or the male voices too low. Why is this?
The recordings are intended to support congregational singing. Choosing a key for a mixed congregation involves a compromise: a comfortable range for one singer may feel higher or lower for another.
AppForWorship Plus lets you change the key of supported songs, so you can choose a range that suits your congregation.
I am hearing static or digital noise during playback. How can I get rid of this?
If you are using a wireless connection, please check that the connection is working correctly. Try a wired connection if one is available, to help identify whether the problem is in the audio connection.
Make sure you have the latest app version. If the noise continues, email support with details of your device, sound equipment and the song you were playing.
Why might I need a CCLI Streaming Plus licence to stream songs online?
Permission to display song lyrics and permission to stream a recording are different. CCLI Streaming Plus covers recordings from authorised sources, subject to its terms.
Before streaming, check that your licence covers the particular song and recording in your country. See CCLI’s streaming licence guidance. An AppForWorship subscription does not replace your church’s copyright permissions.
I am having problems running the app on my device.
Firstly, please make sure that you are running a compatible device and that you have the latest version of the app. We are regularly updating it with improvements and fixes, you can download the latest version here:
If you’re still having problems, please contact us by email support giving us as many details as possible.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can manage your subscriptions on the subscriptions page.
I am getting a maximum sessions error message. Can you help?
Sign out of devices you are no longer using. If you cannot access those devices, or the message continues, email support so we can help.
I have forgotten my AppForWorship password. What should I do?
Please email support if you cannot sign in to your AppForWorship account. Include the email address associated with your account, but never send us your password.
Can I use AppForWorship Plus songs in PowerPoint, ProPresenter or another media package?
The bespoke songs in AppForWorship Plus require AppForWorship to play. They contain more than a finished audio track or video: the app brings together the music, lyrics and arrangement, letting you move between sections and adjust the available accompaniment on supported songs. These interactive songs cannot be played directly in PowerPoint, ProPresenter or another media package.
AppForWorship now also supports MP4 lyric videos, MP3 audio and presentations, so you can bring these resources together with AppForWorship Plus songs and run your whole service in one app.
On Windows, my external screen mirrors my computer screen. How do I change this?
Press the Windows logo key + P and select Extend. Alternatively, open Windows Display Settings and choose to extend your displays.
Then choose the external screen as your presentation display in AppForWorship. See Microsoft’s multiple-monitor guide for help with Windows display settings.
Can I suggest a song for inclusion in AppForWorship?
Yes, please do! We welcome suggestions for songs your congregation would like to sing. Use our song suggestion form to send us the song title and, if you know it, the author.
We cannot promise that every request will be added.
Can different people in our worship team use AppForWorship on their devices?
Free is a standalone workflow on one device, with each installation working independently. Essentials and Plus each have a five-device allowance. AppForWorship Plus includes everything in Essentials and the music catalogue; you only need one paid plan.
Essentials and Plus both include cloud and live syncing for services and media. A connected TV or projector is an output and does not count as another app device. See the feature comparison for details.
Someone in our church used their own account and then left. Can we move their songs to our account?
Please email support before trying to move subscriptions or licensed songs between accounts. Tell us which accounts are involved so we can explain the available options.
I am having billing or subscription problems, what should I do?
Please contact us by email support and we will do our best to help.
I can't reset my password, what should I do?
Firstly, please check your spam folder. If it's still not working, please contact us by email support and we will do our best to help.
Can you call me back, or can I call you?
We provide support by email. Please email support with as much detail as possible and we will do our best to help.
How secure is my credit card and personal data?
Payments are handled through the payment provider shown at checkout. Our checkout supports Stripe and Paddle.
For information about the personal data we collect, how it is used and how we protect it, please read our Privacy Notice.
If I delete and reinstall the app, how do I get my AppForWorship Plus songs back?
Sign in to the account with your AppForWorship Plus subscription to access the library again. If you have trouble accessing a song, email support.
Your own files and locally prepared services are separate from AppForWorship Plus access. Back them up before removing the app. Free has no cloud syncing; do not assume that signing in will restore local files.
Can I use backing tracks and lyric videos I already have?
Yes. The free version of AppForWorship lets you import and play your own MP3 backing tracks and MP4 lyric videos, and include them in your services.
Imported audio does not acquire the separate instruments or section controls of supported AppForWorship Plus songs. Essentials and Plus include key and speed changes for supported backing tracks you bring yourself.
Can I send lyrics and music wirelessly from AppForWorship?
This depends on your device and the equipment you are using. If your device supports wireless screen mirroring or audio output, test the connection with your equipment before the service.
If playback stutters or the sound and picture are out of sync, try a wired connection.
How can I mirror an iPhone or iPad wirelessly to a display?
For a compatible Apple TV, smart TV or Mac, connect the devices to the same Wi-Fi network. Open Control Centre on your iPhone or iPad, tap Screen Mirroring, then select your display. Enter an AirPlay passcode if prompted.
To stop, open Screen Mirroring again and tap Stop Mirroring. See Apple’s current AirPlay guide for device-specific instructions.
AppForWorship for iPhone and iPad is coming soon. Check our download page for availability.
Do I need a CCLI number to use the app?
Using the app and having permission to display copyrighted lyrics are separate matters. Check that your church has permission for the songs and the way you intend to use them.
For information about CCLI licences and the songs they cover, visit CCLI’s website.
